Logging started in 2013 in the tree farm where the race normally takes place, and they're still at it, so the run will start and finish in Tukwila, not Gig Harbor. Do not show up in Gig Harbor or you'll be alone. See the "getting there" and "Course" tabs above for more information.
Run the Wishbone Run trail marathon
in Gig Harbor’s beautiful Crescent Forest along the Green River Trail the day after Thanksgiving and avoid all the crowds at the mall. A tour of the Crescent Forest industrial parks along a meandering waterway will be much more pleasant.
The race starts at 7:30 a.m.
There will be an aid station
central to the course and at the start/finish of each loop at the turnaround point. There will be water and Gatorade available on the course. Other amenities are a possibility, but not certain! Check back closer to race day. (Please NO LITTERING!)
A porta potty will be available at the start and the turnaround.
Parking is somewhat limited, so please think about carpooling.
No relay teams.
No Dogs: (New rule in 2015 because of USATF rule)
Trail dogs are welcome, just remember that a few of us are nervous of dogs and don’t appreciate having our heels nipped or our dogs chased by other dogs.
Entry Fee: $20 donation day of race, money will be donated to the local food bank. http://gigharborpeninsulafish.com/help.html
If you want to bring some food to share with others after the event, that would be wonderful. It’s all up to you. Hopefully there will be a bumper crop of huckleberries so that we can have pancakes again.
